Philadelphia Courtroom Technology

Traditionally, the legal system has trailed behind the rest of the country in technology adoption. Still, as technology continues to play an important role in our lives, its presence is starting to grow in the courtroom. Now, courtroom technology can help you make a stronger case during trial. It not only provides access to a plethora of new evidence, but new and engaging ways to present exhibits, too.

Utilizing Courtroom Technology for Engaging Evidence

Courtroom technology brings the benefit of presenting evidence in a variety of ways. From 3D models to video presentations, technology provides attorneys access to a number of different formats. Utilizing these different methods can help you present a case to the jury that is more convincing and engaging.

A number of studies have shown that students are better able to retain information when it engages multiple senses. Applying this to the courtroom, it is clear that jurors can also better understand a case when more of their senses are engaged. Courtroom technology provides you with the leverage you need to do this.

For example, a 3D rendering of a grocery store can provide jury members with insight into the scene of an accident that they otherwise may not have had. Likewise, digital renderings of someone’s injuries can highlight the severity of the harm incurred.

Types of Courtroom Technology We Use

There are a number of different types of courtroom technology we can provide to help you make a stronger case and deliver effective arguments to the jury. These include:

  • Displays and monitors: High-definition monitors and displays can help lawyers, jurors, judges, and witnesses better view evidence and exhibits.
  • Screens and projectors: When monitors and displays are not enough, projectors and screens are better equipped to showcase large-format presentations.
  • Audio systems: Audio systems include speakers, microphone, and mixers that allow you, witnesses, and others to communicate clearly. This avoids miscommunication, which can pose challenges during a trial.
  • Elmo document cameras: These are visual presenters, sometimes described as modern day versions of overhead projectors, as they project images of objects and documents onto a screen. With an Elmo document camera, you can present 3D objects, documents, and more.
  • Video conferencing technology: Remote testimony is becoming increasingly common in courtrooms today. The right technology can easily bring eyewitnesses and experts into the courtroom even when they are not in the same city, or even the state.
  • Splitters: Splitters are useful when managing multiple audio and video feeds at the same time. This can allow for side-by-side comparisons and deliver a lot of information to the jury quickly and concisely.
